Murdochmuir, the houses on the left, are amongst the oldest in Neilston. According to Dr Pride's History of the Parish they date from the early 19th century. Apparently there was some controversy when a nearby standing stone was blasted and used in the construction of the building. The yellow Lichen on the end wall is a good indication of the pollution free air of Neilston.
