Class 2844 Steam Locomotive at Didcot Railway Centre, 1991 No 2822 was built in 1940 at Swindon this 2-8-0 was one of GWR work horses in its day. It remained in service until 1964 when it was sent to Barry to be scrapped. The locomotive was rescued from there in 1976 and broought to Didcot for restoration where it ran under steam until 2010. It is presently a static display there.
