The Green Man, Rosslyn Chapel

If you look in the top left hand area of this photo you'll see a stone carved face, this is one example of over 100 green man carvings in Rosslyn Chapel. Historically it is a Pagan figure, the vines sprouting from his mouth represent natures growth and fertility, illustrating the unity bwteen humanity and nature.
