The Old School House, Quarriers Village

Quarriers Village was the vision of philanthropist William Quarrier, a shoe maker from Paisley. His idea was for a community allowing the young people in his care to thrive, set in a countryside environment and housed in a number of grand residences under a house-mother and father. In 1876 this is what came about, this building being the purpose built school. Today it has been converted into flats.
