The Gate Houses, Formakin Estate, Bishopton

Formakin House is often referred to as The Monkey House. If you look closely at the highest point on the roofs here you'll see stone monkeys. It seems the architect Sir Robert Lorimer had considerable fun designing the estate buildings, one has a date of 1694 DL on it, the DL meaning Damned Lie since they were all built after 1913. Map location.
