The Castle has four stories inside, in 1910 a concrete roof was installed to protect the ruin but this is now in need of repair. Much of the interior was removed when the Castle was used by Fishermen in the 18th century. To the left of the Castle the town of Millport on the Isle of Cumbrae can just be made out.
