Inside the Mother Lodge Scotland, Kilwinning

Taken during the "Doors Open" event in 2016. The history of the Mother Lodge dates back to 1140 at the time of the construction of the nearby Abbey. The Lodge was founded within the Chapter House of the Abbey and remained there until the reformation in 1560. The present day lodge dates from 1893 and is only a short walk from the ruins of the Abbey.
