The Forth Road Bridge, May 1965, 8mm colour film, no sound, file size 11Mb

Views of the Forth Road bridge taken 8 months after it was opened in Septmeber 1964 by the Queen. When built it was Europe's longest suspension bridge and even today it remains the longest such bridge in Scotland with a central span of 1km. After 40 years the main cable is suffering from corrosion and there is talk of building a new bridge. To play in stand alone player click here
