The Church of Holy Rude, Stirling
Holy Rude Church is the second oldest building in Stirling after Stirling Castle. The original church was founded in 1129 although nothing remains of it today after it was destroyed by fire. The oldest part standing today dates from 1414. The part seen here dates from the 16th century. This is the only church in the UK other than Westminster in London to have held a coronation and still be in use today. King James VI was crowned here in 1567.
