Eastern Defences, Fort George

The Duke of Cumberland's Bastion, named after King George II brother. This Bastion was remodelled around 1860 as a coastal battery after the threat of any further Highland Rebellions had past. The town of Rosmarkie can be seen on the opposite side of the Moray Firth. Map location.
