Loch Doon Castle ruins
Inside the ruins of Loch Doon Castle. On the right is the main gate and on the left is what remains of the tower. The Castle dates from the 13th century but what you see today is a reconstruction as the castle was moved from an island in Loch Doon in the 1930's when the water level was raised by the Galloway Hydro Scheme.
