Coats Observatory, Paisley

Looking down on Coats Observatory from the spire of Coats Memorial Church, both buildings were paid for by the Coats Mill family. The Observatory was opened in 1883 and is one of only two such Astronomical Observatories in Scotland that are open to the public.
