Over looking the old Pier, Dunoon

This view from Dunoon Castle (a grassy hill) is looking up the river Clyde. On the extreme right The Cloch Lighthouse can be seen on the Ayrshire coast. The Holy Loch and Loch Long are round the headland on the left hand side. The statue is of "Highland Mary", a love of Robert Burns. Map location

This is s lovely view and the old pier looks in remakably good conditions and I hope it will be preserved, it is a histrical place. In my mind' eye I can see the steamer at the pier and all the visitors streaming off for a day in Dunoon and others waiting to board for a trip further down the clyde to Rothsay or Millport or Largs. Sad to see the place so forlorn and empty of people.
