An unusually clear view of Ailsa Craig from Ballantrae on the Ayrshire coast. It looks deceptively close but is infact about 10 miles away. It is uninhabited today but in the past was used to quarry curling stones. The Island is home to 40,000 Gannets making it the 3rd most important site for these birds in the British Isles.
