Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire
Overlooking the harbour area of Stonehaven. The harbour you see today mostly dates from the 19th century although there was a harbour here as long ago as the 16th century. It was built for a fleet of mainly Herring fishing boats. That industry peaked around 1894 and today the harbour is used mainly for the mooring of pleasure craft and a few fishing boats.
