A station was first built here in 1879 but the present building dates from 1905. The impressive frontage above the entrance is Glasgow Central Hotel designed by Robert Rowand Anderson. Its hard to believe, but this station serves nearly 23 million people every year which makes it the busiest UK station outside London.
