This is a Replica of the Iron boat, Vulcan. Built in 1819 by Coatbridge boatbuilder Thomas Wilson and blacksmiths Thomas and William Smellie. She was a horse drawn "passage boat" capable of carrying 200 people. She was almost certainly the world's first iron passenger vessel. The boat can be seen today at the Summerlee Heritage Park in Coatbridge.
