RAF Oban, Kerrera

Looking over to Ardantrive Bay on Kerrera. In the 1930's Oban was recognised as a possible site for flying boats and in 1938 building work began on a new slip way, jetty and servicing area on Kerrera. The slipway and sheds are still visible today. Headquarters were in Oban and there was also an associated slipway and buildings at Ganavan Sands on the mainland. Map location.
