River front view of the City of Perth

Perth sits on the river Tay and has been a royal burgh since the 13th century and was a royal residence thoughout the middle ages. Because of this Perth is often referred to as the ancient capital of Scotland. The Bridge on the right hand side is Smeaton's bridge dating from 1771. Map location
