RN Armament Depot, Coulport

This view looking down Loch Long from Ardentinny shows the massive floating jetti (top right) built to enable Trident submarines to be armed under cover. The height of the building is to allow the 10m length of the Trident D5 missile to be lifted clear of the Submarine. Finart oil terminal can be seen in the distance above the fishing boat. Map location (details of Couport base has been censored from OS map)
