Former Admiralty research establishment, Gin Head

Built in 1943 and used by the Admiralty and the Air Ministry to develop Naval radar. It played a crucial role in developing methods to jam German Radar for the D-Day landings. In the 1984 the site was bought by Ferranti who continued to use it as a test area but by 1994 it was abandoned and is awaiting further development today. Map location.
