The Bass Rock from Tantallon Castle

The Bass rock is a volcanic rock in the outer Firth of Forth. It sits just over a mile from the mainland and rises some 100m above the sea. The island has a white appearance since it plays host to over 100,000 Gannets, and their droppings. This is the largest single rock Gannetry in the world has has around 10% of the world population of North Atlantic Gannets.
