Looking from the Pencil beach inland to the south end of Largs. A seemingly normal picture, but taken in June 2011. Look at the trees, its like an autumnal view. The seaward facing side of most trees are brown. This was caused by a storm on 23rd May 2011 which sent salt spray in land for miles affecting the west facing side of large numbers of trees. The effect can apparently be seen all the way from Dumfries & Galloway in the South to Fort William in the North.
