Hull of Hutton TLP Oil Rig, Cromarty

The rather unattractive view from Cromarty in 2009. The hull of the Conoco Hutton TLP Oil Rig lies out in the firth awaiting disposal. It was the first Tension Leg Platfrom and was built across the firth at Nigg Construction yard in the 1980's. The Deck was also built nearby at Ardersier but it has already been removed at Murmansk in Russia. Map location.
