Dawyck House

Built around 1830 in place of an earlier one. It was the Veitch family who planted the original garden which was later added to by the Naesmiths who were great supporters of plant hunters like David Douglas. In 1978 the garden and Arboretum were donated to the Royal Botanic Gardens although the house remains in private hands.
