An old Class 37 takes a rest in a siding at Aviemore
The Class 37 was a diesel electric built in the early 1960's.  Weighing over 100 tons and with a power output of 1.3MW it has been a work horse on the UK rail network for 40 years . This particular example, pictured in 2008 at Aviemore, has since gone to one of the great [url=http://www.thegrowlergroup.org.uk/248/37248_home.html/]preservation societies [/url] in the sky.

The Class 37 was a diesel electric built in the early 1960's. Weighing over 100 tons and with a power output of 1.3MW it has been a work horse on the UK rail network for 40 years . This particular example, pictured in 2008 at Aviemore, has since gone to one of the great preservation societies in the sky.
