The Wallace Stone, at Wallacestone

Allegedly the location where William Wallace stood and watched the invading English Army led by Edward I in 1298. On this occasion the Scots were defeated although the exact location of the battle seems to still be open for debate. This stone replaced a much older earlier one. Notice the appropriate saltire flag in the sky. Map location.
