Stone roof carvings, Rosslyn Chapel

Each one of the small cubes you see here are unique, carved with individual symbols made up of lines and dots. Various theories suggest that these may represent keys to a secret code or be musical notes. This only one small part of Rosslyn, everywhere you look there are carvings of this quality.
