Over looking Gare Loch towards Faslane Naval Base, 2006
In 2006 Faslane became the home for Mine Counter Measure Squadron 1 which consists of all 8 of the Sandown class ships. They are normally berthed on the right hand side but on this day all appear to be deployed somewhere. New accomodation blocks for sailors are being completed on the right. The small community of Garelochhead can be seen at the extreme left at the top of the loch [url=http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=223255&Y=687327&A=Y&Z=120&ax=223120&ay=687207/] Map location.
