The Dumfries & Galloway Aviation Museum is based around what was the control tower at RAF Dumfries. The top floor has a re-creation of what it might have looked like during the war. Looking out the windows today all you see is an industrial estate with only a few bits of the concrete runways remaining. RAF Dumfries was operation between 1940 and 1957. One of the existing hangers is still in use today by a business.
