Electric Steeple-Cab locomotive, Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway
This unusual electric locomotive dates from 1940. The name steeple-cab is because from a side view it does actually look a bit like a steeple. It was used at the Fairlfieds shipyard in Govan to haul goods along the tram lines from the Govan Railway good yard to the ship yard. Electric traction was chosen because the tram lines used over-head electric power. It operated until 1967 when it was donated to the museum.
