Steading cottage, Highland Folk Museum, Newtonmore
An example of a Steading cottage. A small timber frame building covered with corrugated iron. This one was built at the end of the 19th century and sits in its original location. It would have housed farmer workers but also may have been used by the farmer's family in the summer to allow their own house (the stone building on the left) to be rented out as a holiday house.
